FarCry 3 Review

FarCry Review

Do you know the definition of INSANITY? Well, you’ll find that out for sure in this game. An insanely thrilling open-world, first person shooter, FarCry 3 is worth the while.

The plot of the game isn't very catchy, but it can be very enjoyable to many who require action while roaming in the danger of wild forests. The story begins with the main character Jason and his friends celebrating his younger brother Riley attaining Riley's pilot’s license. While celebrating, they decide to go skydiving and they land on a pirate infested island named Rook Island. They are taken captive by a pirate leader named Vaas, who plans to extort ransom money from their parents and then sell them into slavery. With the help of his elder brother Grant, Jason manages to escape captivity, but Grant is killed by Vaas while they escape. Jason struggles to escape and almost drowns before he is saved by a Rakyat warrior named Dennis who takes him into the tribe. Jason helps the warriors, while in-turn they help him in rescuing his friends and leaving the Island. Jason comes across multiple enemies including the wilderness itself. He must strive and succeed in rescuing the lives of his friends and his little brother.

The gameplay, compared to the previous FarCry games, shows improvement, making the game feel more realistic. The shooting mechanics are much better and give the user a better feel for the weight of the gun every time it is shot with. The driving differs realistically for each vehicle and each terrain. Hunting can really get you glued to your seat, be it on the ground or even under water animals that you’re after. Then there’s crafting. With each mission complete, Jason gets the opportunity to craft certain items, with what he hunts, that will help him with his survival. These include pouches, arrows, medicines and a bunch of other stuff. Progressing through the game gives you skill points and these points allow you to upgrade Jason with special abilities. This is a cliché, but what make it worth the while are the tattoos that are inked onto your arm each time you upgrade.

The graphics are naturally beautiful and bring out the ambiance and realism of the wilderness of Rook Island. Shadows and lighting are precise when it comes to roaming inside the forests. The leaves and bushes feel amazing. The character graphics are nicely done and the vehicle textures are also amazing. The nighttime graphics need improvement but I guess that doesn’t really matter much to a gameplay junkie than to a graphic junkie. I guess I can’t really say any more without spoiling the game anymore, but trust me, what I’ve written here is just a tiny bit of the vast game you’ll experience in FarCry 3.

The story could have been molded better. There is an unusual sidetrack in the story that makes you go “whaaaa?”. The endings are kind of plain. Yes, there are multiple endings. The missions vary very well but they do not give you an enthusiastic kick each time. The villain Vaas is really amazing and the character Citra, ahem, she’ll keep you attended, hehe.
So overall, the game is worth the while, but is easy to find fault with. I can’t say it isn’t enjoyable, but to me it isn’t the best one. Who knows, you might like it much better.

These are all based on my opinion. This may not be the opinion of others, but these are the things that I felt while playing the game. FarCry 3, go for it!

Watch Dogs Review

Watch Dogs! The much awaited and extremely satisfying, for most people, Ubisoft franchise, featuring the ability to be able to hack into a large city powered by one big system, ctOS!

Hack into the shoes (Yeah, that’s right) of Aiden Pearce who fights for the sole purpose of revenge, when a job gone wrong in the past leads to the unexpected and unfortunate death of his beloved niece.  Anger drives him to team up with a few exceptional hackers who agree to help him, but on their own terms. With the help of a mobile device which grants him the frightening power to hack into the network that the city runs on, Aiden grinds his way through trust and betrayal to find those responsible for the death of his niece! Aiden is not the only one with the knowledge of invading private networks, disrupting street lights, jamming communications or even blacking out the entire power grid! Hack your way through a brilliantly paced story to uncover the truth that Aiden tries to seek out whilst keeping his family safe from harm’s way!

The game features amazing gameplay! Players can use their cell phones to hack into almost everything that is connected to the ctOS system! Hacking into a camera on a high wall gives you a wider view of your surroundings, enabling your vision to reach places that you can’t physically reach! Bust a getaway driver by using the street lights to slow him down or using a blocker to smash him to a stop or even blow up a steam pipe from under the road to take him down for good! Use jam coms to interrupt a call for backup or police, giving you just enough space to get off the radar! Trouble escaping a massive heat level and an annoying helicopter at night? Disrupt the chopper’s signals and Blackout the entire city, then escape into the darkness to never be found again! The good stuff keeps coming whilst playing the game! The story isn’t the only thing that’ll entertain you. The game features many mini games like Chess, drinking games and even 8-bit alien invasion games! The vehicles in the game feature distinct looks and handling that offers the right amount of variety for you to select from! There’s so much more! Wanna know? Better go play the game! :D

The graphics are absolutely mind blowing! There is a huge difference between current gen and next gen graphics, but that is to be expected since the current gen consoles cannot take the toll that the game forces onto it! The PC, the PS4 and the Xbox One users will experience extreme depth and brilliant color in their experience with watch dogs! Beautifully digitized and animated characters add a lot more sensation to the story! The weather cycle is phenomenal, especially when it rains! The water animation in the game is outstanding! The feeling you get when riding off into the sunset listening to the radio gives you a vibe making you forget how many hours you’ve spent on the game!

The game sports a few glitches here and there which I hope they would look into, when releasing a patch or a fix! Current gen users will not experience many features that next gen users will, but that is to be expected as Watch Dogs is a next gen game!  Other than this, to be honest, I can’t think of anything that disappointed me while playing the game! The game is brilliant and addicting in my opinion!

Genre Rating: Open world, Action-adventure, Stealth
Open world: 9/10
Action: 9.5/10
Adventure: 9/10
Stealth: 9.5/10
MY Overall rating: 9.2/10

So to wrap it all up, Watch Dogs is one of the best games up to date and is extremely fun! Stop criminals; investigate possible future crimes and be a vigilante, or be a downhearted villain using the city to satisfy you! You choose! Watch Dogs: Everything is connected!

These are entirely my opinions about the game! Different people will have different views about the game but these are my own views and feelings that I experienced whilst playing the game!

L.A.Noire Review

“A dark and violent crime thriller” a description that fits best to this cinematic franchise. Walk in the shoes of Patrol officer Cole Phelps, who is a former soldier, as he solves his way up to being a detective. The road is not short and the crime rate in L.A isn't small either. With one case leading to another, Phelps must uncover the secrets that are hidden well within Los Angeles. Devoted to the truth, Phelps doesn't take no for an answer.

The game sets in the ‘City of Hollywood’, as some would call it. The 3rd person gameplay is relatively smooth for a game set in the 40’s. The controls are very smooth; sometimes too smooth that when you move the left stick on your joystick, you’ll see Phelps tracing a circle in the middle of a chase.I’m just kidding. It's not that bad!  The shooting system is very spontaneous but that's how the gun shots are supposed to feel. Rockstar Games got everything down from the feel of a 1940’s city, to the cars and guns, to even the way people behave during interrogations. The driving is a bit tight; doesn't matter what car you choose. The story gets more and more interesting as you move on. How interesting? Well, that’s for you to investigate!

The game features the use of a new highly effective and revolutionary facial animation technology. With the employment of at least 35 or more High-definition cameras recording every facial muscle’s movements and digitizing it, each and every character’s emotions in the game is brought to life. This feature plays a key role in the story. During interrogation, using your brain and Phelps’s intuition, you’ll have to narrow down to whether the suspect is speaking the Truth or is lying or if you doubt him/her. But this is the only thing they had time for I guess. Not complaining, but they could have improved the environmental graphics, however, that doesn't mean it isn't playable. It is amazing for a detective game and the best at its time. Maybe I just feel like it after playing many new games with amazing graphics. The facial animation thingy, you’re gonna love it!

Coming to the cons, the story is long and deep and kind of slow, but then again that’s how a detective game normally plays. Ah! Fine, it isn't a flaw! The driving could have been better. Steering becomes pretty hard but it can be handled after practice. The shooting mechanics are awesome but the moving while behind cover gets annoying at times, especially when you bump into your partner who’s sharing the same cover you’re behind; “Oh hey there Phelps!”.The access to the objects in the environment are limited as well; meaning only objects that contribute to the story can be interacted with. Doesn't limit the fun though!

So in the end the game has a few dim lights, but the good stuff far outweigh the drawbacks. The game is amazing and its story is captivating. The facial animation is mind-blowing and the 40’s feel of the game, can’t get enough of it! Be sure to check this game out, you won’t regret it!
My ratings:
Action:8/10
Adventure:7/10
Crime:8.5/10
Overall game rating: 7.8/10

All of the above words are completely based on MY opinion. These may not be the opinion of others, but these are what I felt when playing the game. Go for it! L.A.Noire!

Grand Theft Auto 5 Review

Grand Theft Auto 5

Hey guys, my name is Diablo Kash, but you can call me Kash. I'll be making reviews about games now and then so be sure to subscribe to my channel in YouTube for more regular cool stuff.

Today I'll be making a quick review about the very popular franchise and the most popular of its series, grossing a total of 1 billion dollars in just 3 days, Grand Theft Auto 5.

The game sets in the ever so iconic San Andreas. San Andreas was first introduced in an earlier version of Grand theft auto. Gta 5 brings back to you the old gangs like the Ballas and the Vagos who you again have certain disputes with....but trust me, its worth it. Those gang wars never let you down. Moving onto the story of the game...

...The game revolves around three main characters. Franklin, Michael and Trevor. We begin with a bank robbery.. seriously .. that is cool .. i mean .. not waiting for those 20 minute long intros setting up the whole story not letting you skip to play the game.... sweet! .. ahem.. anyway .. the bank robbery kinda sets the whole story up, with Michael making a contract with an FIB agent ...And then disappears under the radar and away from his friend Trevor who is under the impression that Michael Townley is dead... Michael moves to Los Santos under the name of Michael De Santa hoping to enjoy  a retired life .. and make movies....heh
But when Michael stumbles upon Franklin who does Repossession jobs and when his old buddy Trevor finds out he's alive... Michael's vacation turns into his worst nightmare ... seriously, the story of the game from then really gets to you.

The game does show massive improvement in gameplay compared to the other GTA games. The driving feels smoother and not as slippery as in GTA 4. The damage system feels a little bit weaker..meaning the characters can die quicker than before.... but that does add to the realism..The new weapon wheel.. sweet .. the new radio ... uhhh . not so sweet...There are a wide variety of weapons and customizing them just never gets old... The Cars in the game are amazing .. good selection of cars can be found cruising around the city and the customization of the cars add a huge boost to the fun you can have in the game... There are numerous activities you can do like Golfing, tennis, yoga, strip club, the movies, TV, hunting, strip club, robberies, explosions, tow trucking, and......strip club...hehe. ... and more..the side missions are huge too.

The graphics of the game are the best they could do with the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles ... it could be better but i believe they did the best they could. .. it doesn't let me down .. i mean it is amazing .. but it isn't the best yet ... The graphics far outweigh the previous GTA games.

The explosions in the game look amazing but could be a little longer. The story didn't really appeal to me .. but then again this is MY opinion.. there are different people with different opinions.. but personally i think the story could have been a little longer too ...The gunfights are amazing ... the damage caused by the bullets are adequate ...the only disappointment for me would be the story.

So overall, Grand Theft Auto 5 really is fun .. and you'll spend hours on it if you love driving around, smashing into cars, beautifying them, smashing them again, exploding things, strip clubs, and all other stuff that you can imagine to do .... then GTA 5 is the game you're looking for...

This review is entirely based on my opinions.. this may not be the opinion of other gamers ...but these are all the things i felt while playing this game. Go for it .. GTA 5
